There have been many other times I have wished such a thing but, to be honest, I can’t remember a time I wished to have my camera with me more than I did this morning and I shall tell you why.
As I walked along the rain dampened pavement in my old worn pink floral Docs I couldn’t help but be utterly amazed by the almost unreal image before me. For a majority of my walk I’m presented with the ever changing view of the Puget sound and the Olympic mountains in all their beauty and majesticness. This view, taking into account that it isn’t obscured by rain, fog or other visually imperative weather conditions, is quite amazing but this morning for the fist time in what seemed to be quite some time the majesties of the Pacific Northwest had crawled out if their gray bed of clouds. Today they decided that they would emerge ready for their close up. They had powdered their face so that the contrast created by the shadows was quite striking, the mountain peaks were bathed in the pink light of the morning sun who only seemed to have eyes for the mountains. Some of the mountains were sporting a necklace of gray clouds and others seemed to be posed behind the backdrop of waves of gray and white clouds. The sun light that covered the peaks did only that. Leading up to the peaks was a very flat layer of light gray clouds that contraseded the ruggedness of the young mountains and adding to the amazingness of the scene of the day.

The Current Woes of a Seattleite

Ahhhh it almost feels like fall in Seattle! Finally! Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this to happen for such a long time! See, I’m one of those people who likes the fall weather to start around the start of the school year. By the time mid September roles around I would like to have broken out the rain boots already and by mid October I expect to see the first frost of the year. Sadly, Seattle isn’t living up to its reputation of being the rainy city this fall. We haven’t hardly gotten any rain and its really starting to annoy me rather alot… I hate the fact that basically every other state has gotten rain this fall but Washington… I NEED MY RAIN AND GRAY AND GLOOM!!!!! I’m a Seattleite and you know what we Seattleites are especially good at? Complaining. That’s right, we are the best complainers around. We complain about it being too cold, too rainy, too hot, too sunny, too snowy, too cloudy, too windy and recently we have been complaining about it being too dry…
See, I like to think of my self as a true Seattleite. I LOVE the rain and the wind and the clouds of Seattle! I also like being an urbanite that is only a few hours drive away form the out doors. So, essentially, this is my post complaining about the current weather pattern in Seattle. Oh and just one more thing, when it did rain for like a few seconds in early September I did spin around and dance a bit in the rain… Yeah, I’m THAT cool…

Story of my life…

Story of my life…

"My" Summer

Also, I being the some what lazy person that I am wrote this whole thing last weekend and I have been too lazy apparently to post this on tumblr and do all the nesessary tagging and what not but oh well, better late than never right?

Over the past few months I have not only been far too busy to post something on tumblr I have not been at liberty to post the happenings of my daily life. Making this post is as a matter of fact something that may put my life and my colleagues in immense danger. You see, I, along with about half a dozen other people have been shipped off in a windowless air craft that took us to a land that we had never seen. Upon my arrival I decided to explore this place. After about a half an hour it seemed i had discovered that my fellow colleagues and I were on an island. The reason for us being on that island was, and still is, a mystery. Once I had felt as thought i had a pretty good idea of the land that we had been placed on I followed my foot prints and made my way back to camp. I was greeted with some fresh water collected from a spring not far from camp and the most moist and satisfactory coconut meat to have passed my lips and slid down my throat. The air on the island was so sticky and hot that night that no one even thought of making a fire so we sat and ate coconuts listening to the sounds of birds singing to the setting sun. Once the suns light had faded along with the sound of the birds i thought it safe to implore weather or not anyone had any ideas of what we should do to survive. I was met with six pairs of eyes staring at me with an inquisitive gleaming. After what seemed like an eternity a man with a strong voice suggested that we all go to sleep and continue the conversation tomorrow when the events of the past 24 hours had sunken in and we were thinking more clearly. I couldn’t argue with that idea so I went and collected fourteen large palm leaves distributing them so that everyone got two.

The next morning I was awoken by the sound of the birds greeting the sun in much the same way they sent it away yesterday only this time the songs seemed to have a much cheery tune. I looked around and saw that everyone was still asleep so I went off to see if there was anything else to eat on the island. I ventured into the tall thick brush behind me in search of food. The first thing I came across was a respectably sized grove of palm trees. I shimmied up the trunks of the trees and collected one coconut for each of us stowing them in a make shift bag I had fashioned that morning from the peeling bark and leaves of a palm tree and continued on across the island. After a while I found the spring who’s water I’d gulped down not even twelve hours prior. The spring was surrounded by banana trees weighted down with bright yellow fruit waiting to be picked and devoured. I filled my bag with countless bananas and returned to camp with my bounty of food.

The seven of us discussed plans over a breakfast of bananas and coconut milk until the strong voice from the night before interjected. We all looked around to see who it was that had spoken. We realized that the strong male voice did not belong to any of us but to some mysterious being that dwelled on the island.

Tune in next week to find out where the voice is coming from and what the plain of survival is.

Im sure many of you have lots of fun things planed for this weekend. Here in seattle there’s TONS of things to do this weekend. You can go to any of the numerous beaches in the area or you could go to folklife. I shall be spending the weekend rock climbing and chilling waterside. However, today I’ll be spending a few hours at folklife with some of my friends. For those of you who don’t know what folklife is its a festival that happens every year at the seattle center over memorial day weekend. Oh and, its free so if you want some free fun and your in the seattle area you should head down to the seattle center and check it out! Well, what ever you end up doing this weekend stay safe and be smart!

Don’t plan it, don’t expect it, just let it happen”
Spoke by Special Agent Dale Cooper. So this morning I was trying to catch the early bus to school but I failed to leave early enough to do so. I ended up taking a different bus that left sometime between the busses I typically take. I realized that I rather love this bus. It makes me feel important for the bus is filled with all sorts of people going to their jobs. I do believe that I will take this bus more often. If not for all that but for the picturesque Seattle views I come across while riding this bus!
P.s. This weekend its acctualy supposed to be nice in Seattle!
- CC Dawn

HIPSTERISH SEATTLE

So I haven’t posted in a while and im sorry if that has caused you to be upset. Im not going to lie, I haven’t got any excuse for my lack of posting… But hey, im posting now aren’t I? Well, i have gotten a few sunburns since i last posted and no, i haven’t left Seattle. Spring really IS here thank goodness! I’ve missed it! I talk far too much about weather so today i will talk about something having to do with Seattle that ISN’T weather related! So, im not sure if any of you know this but Seattle is officially the most hipster city in the U.S.! Now i know many people really don’t like hipsters or at least they say they don’t like hipsters. I think that half the people that say that are in denial. Hipsters really aren’t that bad! So, if you go to seattle or any other hipsterish place then i would encourage you to play this game i came up with. Its called hipster count, pretty self explanatory you count hipsters. Well, now that I’ve supplied you with my ramblings once again have a good day! Happy hipster counting! - CC Dawn

Finally Feeling Spring

I woke up this morning and looked out side and was meet with clear sky’s and frost covering all the laws and roof tops. By the time I left for the bus the frost was already melting and turning into water droplets that stuck to the blades of grass reflecting the light from the sun making it look as though the glitter was sprinkled over everything! I just couldn’t help but feel happy and smile! It hardly seemed cold at all, I was very grateful for this! Today i could finally wear my spring skirt that i had worn all winter. We didn’t get any snow this week, it seems like Seattle is being embraced by springs warm grasp. Go out and enjoy the lovely weather today all you Seattleites!
-CC Dawn!

Grass Stains

Yesterday as i was running to my bus stop I slipped on the grass and got my first grass stain of the year! Today I managed to slip in the grass yet again, today however was slightly different due to the fact that today I was in heels (yesterdays shoe of choice was Converse) thankfully do believe that I haven’t sustained any ankle injury’s! In my opinion grass stains represent spring. Seattle has managed to have far too long of a winter and i am more than happy to be sporting springs hottest new accessory; a grass stain. In just a few months those grass stains on the jeans shall turn in to the green grass stained knees of early summer and late spring! Come on Seattle, I’m done with the snow (Seattle got small amounts of it on Tuesday weather forecast are now hinting at the chance of some Sunday) and ready for the warmth and sun!
Happy almost spring!:)
-CC Dawn!:)

captainquezle:
